Body found on railroad track in Seneca

An autopsy is scheduled to help investigators learn more about the death of a woman found early yesterday on a railroad track in Seneca near the Radio Station Road Bridge.  Coroner Addis says she is a 45-year-old Seneca woman.  Her family has been notified.  Addis is withholding the woman’s identity, pending the investigation and his ruling in the death.  Her pet dog, injured, was found near the body and was sent to the animal shelter.  Around 2:30 yesterday morning, 9-1-1 was notified by railroad personnel that a passing train observed a body between the rails.  Oconee Sheriff’s Office and the Seneca police responded.  Coroner Addis was dispatched at 2:41 am.  The coroner gave this further account:  “It has not been determined with certainty if she fell or jumped from the bridge.  The distance from the top of the bridge to the railroad tracks below is approximately 50 feet.”
