Big ticket spending for the county fathers

After their Easter weekend, Oconee County Council is faced tomorrow with multi-spending propositions–as outlined by a seven-page agenda for the regular 6 o’clock meeting at Pine Street.  The county fathers get the school district’s request for 2022-23; before the council will be a $4 million allocation for work 18 miles of county roads; the staff recommends $750 thousand over three years to expand the emergency operations center; Then, there are fund requests from the Joint Regional Sewer Authority to spend $23,400 to widen the scope of a basin study of I-85 exits 1 and 2, along with $85 thousand to repair and resurface 25 driveways and 19 drainage pipes to be impacted by Sewer South construction.
