Bid opening day in Salem

Bids were opened yesterday at the Salem Town Hall for two major town projects:  the Barkdale Roadway Revitalization Project and Phase 2 for the highway 11 water line loop.  HDH Construction of Seneca’s bid of nearly $214 thousand was the only bid received for the Barkdale Road work.  Of four bids, HRH Engineering of Chesnee was the apparent low bid for the water line loop work.  That bid amounted to $487,300.  Ryan Hardin, Salem town administrator, says the bids will be evaluated by town consultant Rosier Group and recommendations will be made to the town council.
