Bells to ring in Oconee starting next week

To some, bell-ringing outside Oconee stores means Christmas season.  The Salvation Army of Oconee’s fundraiser gets the Red Kettle campaign underway next week as volunteers, manning various kettles across the county, will accept donations — whether it be cash, change, or check.  At least 60 groups have already made plans to ring bells at locations in Seneca, Walhalla, and Westminster.  About what you drop into a kettle before you enter or leave a store, the Salvation Army’s Debra Andrews says, “Just one day of ringing can provide three to four families with heat for an entire month.”
