The state health agency reported an additional 56 South Carolina deaths to COVID-19, including a middle-aged Oconeean who died last Saturday.  The new case count from across the state:  3,567, including 35 Oconeeans.  Of 14,331 test results received statewide, the positivity was 24.9%.

The replacement of a large culvert has been completed at Oconee’s Chau Ram Park, and the PRT’s Phil Shirley says the park near Westminster opens for the winter season tomorrow during the hours of 9 am to 4 pm.

The cross-trained personnel of Walhalla Fire Department and others this afternoon were in search and rescue of an individual on an outing at Yellow Branch Falls, SC 28, the Highlands Highway.  A total of 23 people were assisting a patient with a lower extremity injury.  Further details to be announced.

A Blue Ridge Electric contractor has finished the replacement of a power pole, and 101.7/WGOG NEWS returned to the air shortly after 4 this afternoon.  The power outage affecting programming lasted about two hours.  And we’re happy to be back.
