Two casualties from yesterday’s Yellow Branch mishap

Two persons were the casualties from an afternoon incident at Oconee’s Yellow Branch Falls north of Walhalla.  And this morning Chief Brandon Burton of the Walhalla Fire Department requests prayers and thoughts for an adult female hiker and one of 30 responders who responded to her accident.  The woman fell and injured one of her legs near the falls; the rescuer sustained a minor injury and was able to walk out under his own power.  The injured hiker, however, required a wheel and stokes device to safely lift her up and carry to the parking lot to a waiting Prisma Health EMS ambulance.  Members of five public safety outfits responded to the call for help shortly after 3 yesterday afternoon, and Chief Burton is grateful to their hard work and a well done rescue operation.
