Prescribed burn today north of Walhalla

Threatened and endangered plant species, along with fuels reduction, are the reasons for today’s U-S Forest Service prescribed 650-acre burn in Oconee County, of the Cedar Creek and Rich Mountain roads.  The expectations are that smoke might be visible from a distance, but the impacts will be limited because of good dispersion.
