Free food this afternoon in Walhalla

Food will be given away during a one-hour period this afternoon in Walhalla.  The distribution at the St. Luke United Methodist Church will be 4:30 to 5:30 this afternoon.  In Westminster yesterday, the giveaway of food boxes was slower than normal, according to one of the distributors.  However, all food was handed out after three hours’ time.

Fair-Oak student wins state art award

A fifth grader at the Fair-Oak Elementary School, Aubree Davis, is the Elementary Division winner in a youth art show of the state Art Education Association.  Aubree’s acrylic painting, “Donkey”, was first place among eight elementary finalists statewide.  Her piece was awarded first among 75 elementary entries in the western region, and that qualified her for the state show.
