Crenshaw reacts to paper’s investigative report

The Oconee County shelter on the Sandifer Boulevard is supposed to be a place where there’s humane treatment of unwanted animals, but an investigative report by The Journal has found otherwise. And Sheriff Mike Crenshaw, under whose direction that the shelter operates, is announcing sweeping reforms, including personnel changes.  This follows an independent assessment done by an Anderson veterinarian.  Her findings led Crenshaw to ask for a state police investigation. The Oconee Humane Society issued a statement, saying it has no part in county animal control, including no part in the intake and the outtake of the animals.
