Pat Murray returns to her past position as the vice chair of the Oconee Republican Party.  David McMahan, chairman of the county party, announced this morning that in a vote last night by the executive committee, Murray was the winner over two other candidates.  By returning to vice chair, Murray fills a vacancy created by a resignation.

School teacher Josh Roberts will ask Walhalla voters on November 2 to grant him a new, four-year term on city council.  With two and a half days left for qualifying, the race for three seats on the city council looks this way:  incumbent candidates Roberts and Keith Pace; newcomers Tyler Jordan and Grant Keehn.
