For now, defendant’s fate is “sealed”

A verdict in absentia was returned this week in the Oconee General Sessions Courtroom against a man charged with possession of meth/crack cocaine third offense.  Because the defendant did not show up for trial, Randy Lee Cantrell was tried in his absence and, according to Deputy Solicitor Alderman, the jury’s verdict will remain sealed until he is found and brought back to court.  According to Alderman, Cantrell was last seen near Seneca headed into the woods.
