A U-S Postal Service mail price increase took effect Sunday.  The cost of a stamp for a one-ounce letter jumps from 55 cents to 58 cents.

According to its website, Colonial Gas shut down Lines 1 and 2 from Houston to Greensboro for “a precautionary and routine safety measure” as the storm Ida makes its way inland.  But two other lines from Greensboro to New Jersey continue normal operations.
