Parts of Earlestead Road near Walhalla were closed to traffic for one hour last night, as the fire department and other public safety responders dealt with a tree that fell across the road.  The mishap created a power company service call for one home on Earlestead.

The motorcyclist killed in yesterday’s early morning Pickens County accident involving a low-hanging tree along SC 133 was a  27-year old Six Mile man.  According to Chad Hope, deputy Pickens County coroner, Zane Kevin Marcus lost his life in the 12:50 am accident a few miles from his hometown.
