A Pickens County resident has died in a one-car accident late Saturday night, three miles from Pickens on the Pumpkintown Road.  The coroner’s office identifies the decedent as Jared Alan McJunkin of highway 11, Pickens.

Announcement has been received of an Oconeean for the state House of Representatives.  Adam Duncan is announcing for District Two, State House of Representatives with a promise he will represent Oconeeans and not cater to special interests.  The District Two seat is held by Bill Sandifer, who seeks re-nomination in the June Republican primary.

Westminster Public Works rescinded a boil advisory that applied to all water customers.  A second set of completed bacteria tests showed no contamination.

Fire fighters have been sent to a camper fire near Walhalla.  Rural Fire logged the call at 5:35 this morning to an address on the Zion Road.
