Oconee Sheriff’s officers reported minor injuries in a late afternoon accident yesterday on the Radio Station Road near Seneca. According to Chief Deputy Terry Wilson, a car pulling out onto the road from Applewood Shopping Center collided with a second vehicle. Wilson said the impact spun the second vehicle into the path of a state trooper’s vehicle.

Oconee Nuclear Station conducts a series of siren tests Wednesday (September 26) between 8 a-m and 4 p-m in both Oconee and Pickens counties. Fire fighters yesterday were able to quickly stop a small fire in a clothes dryer in a home inside the Corinth-Shiloh Fire District. Chief Mike Zambito of the Corinth-Shiloh Volunteer Fire Department credited Seneca fire fighters with reaching the Nebo Church Road home first, followed shortly by volunteers from his station. No one was injured.
