Splitting a “T” bill

  The Joint Regional Sewer Authority will convert a U-S Treasury bill into a brokered certificate of deposit which a financial advisor promises will draw higher interest. At maturity, the “T” bill will be worth $1.2 million. The JRSA commissioners last night agreed to split that bill into smaller certificates .

Jack Hunt

Jack Hunt, founder and publisher of the Westminster News, has died at the age of 86 years old. Hunt, a former city councilman, died Thursday. His funeral will be at noon today at the Sandifer Funeral Home. A private burial will follow. The family of Jack Hunt receives friends from 11 a-m to noon at the funeral home.

Summer time graduation

More than 1,000 students are expected to receive their degrees at Clemson University. Summer graduation takes place at 11 Friday morning at Littlejohn Coliseum. The former president/CEO of Coburg Dairy Inc., Frank Hanckel, will receive an Honorary Doctorate of Humanities.
