The mayor of Westminster will put it on the line this November.  Rick McCormick qualified this morning as a candidate to be re-elected to a four-year term during his city’s 2015 election on November 3.  The Oconee County Election Commission is receiving candidates in this year’s municipal elections in Westminster and Walhalla.

Hospice gift sets record

  Announcement is to be made of a record-setting gift to the Oconee Hospice of the Foothills, GHS Cottingham Hospice House.  During a meeting last night, Cortni Nations of the Oconee Hospital Foundation said the gift will amount to $631 thousand and will represent the largest estate gift to the local hospice home.
