The mayor and council in Westminster will get a late start on their summer weekend.  A special, called meeting takes place at 5 this evening at City Hall.  Among the reasons for this meeting is a review of where the city stands financially at the end of their fiscal year June 30.

Emergency vehicles are at the 123 Seneca By-Pass at Old Salem Road for a crash that apparently involves two cars.  No other details are immediately confirmed.  The accident was reported shortly after 7:45 this morning.

This is tax-free weekend in South Carolina.  The three-day sales tax holiday features a variety of back-to-school essentials available minus the six percent sales tax and applicable local taxes.  This weekend you can buy tax-free from clothing to accessories, and shoes to school supplies, backpacks and computers.
