In honor of those who served the country, the Francis Marion and the Sumter National Forests are waiving day use fees Monday throughout three ranger districts.  The forests offer nature-based recreation opportunities–from hiking in the mountains to mountain biking in the midlands to kayaking the coastal black water rivers and swamps.

New data show South Carolina’s infant mortality rate increased to 7-point-2 deaths for every 1,000 births. In 2017, the rate was 6-point-5 deaths.
