Beverly Whitfield is grappling with a decision.  The Oconee Clerk of Court is thinking about stepping down after her current term and retiring.  But she’s also thinking that she might offer for re-election.  Whitfield has a few days to contemplate.  The qualifying books for the primary elections do not open until Monday.

Quick-moving squad cars between Seneca and Clemson this morning.  The reason?  Oconee sheriff’s officers received a report of a burglary on Hart’s Ridge Drive.  The sheriff’s spokesman says a traffic stop was made at an address on Hart’s Cove Way.  No further details available.

Pickens County Democrats will hold precinct re-organization and their county convention at 9:30 Saturday morning at the Clemson-Central Library on highway 93.  Special guests for the event will be U-S Senate candidate Jaime Harrison and District Three State House candidate Eunice Lehmacher.

A decision by “FERC” – the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission – will allow a property owner’s association to build a new residential marina on the Pickens County side of Lake Keowee.
