Auditor to make her annual trek to county council

At its first meeting next month, Oconee County Council can expect a presentation by the county’s elected auditor.  Before the 2023 property tax bills are printed, Auditor Christy Hubbard plans to address the county fathers on October 3, and she’s expected to recommend the tax levy to be required to fund the county’s amended budget for 2023-24.  Hubbard tells 101.7/WGOG NEWS:  “I am setting the millage on 10-3-23.  I had to request an extension (which was granted by the state).  I am setting millage on 10-3 and calculating taxes on 10-4, so my plan is to have notices available online on 10-6 and mailed by 10-13 (dependent upon the printing company print schedules).”
