Atlanta area U-S rep. gets a look at Oconee Nuclear

A U-S representative from the western edge of Georgia was among Republican lawmakers who got a look last week at a number of power project facilities in Oconee and Pickens.  Rep. Drew Ferguson was among a handful of congress members on a sight-seeing trip organized by Jeff Duncan, South Carolina’s 3rd District representative.  A statement released by Duncan’s office quotes Ferguson as saying, “I was pleased to join Rep. Jeff Duncan and my colleagues to learn about the work, research, and partnerships in the energy space taking place at Clemson University, along with touring a hydro facility, the Oconee Nuclear Station, and the Blue Ridge Electric Cooperative. These energy program and facilities are a prime example of how communities across America and utilize innovative solutions and natural resources to safeguard our energy sector.”  Ferguson’s district takes in suburbs between Atlanta and Columbus, Georgia.
