Applications to be police chief due January 16

Tuesday, January 16 is the deadline set by Westminster for anyone interested in serving as that city’s next police chief to send a resume.  Because of the time it’ll take to interview and vet finalists to succeed the resigned Matt Patterson, it’s projected Westminster will name the new chief sometime in March.  That’s longer than Brian Ramey, the mayor, would like.  Ramey told last night’s council meeting he’s getting an increasing number of phone calls from people wanting to know who’ll get the job.  In the interim, the job belongs to Caitlyn Pope.  Last night Pope introduced two officer-additions to the small police department.
