An Oconee arrangement means a large dollar return

Oconee County Council was told this week the council’s annual investment in an outside government service agency represents a return of $70.77 for every $1 dollar.  And council members’ comments reflect they appreciate what the South Carolina “A-COG” – the Appalachian Council of Governments—does for the county.  “A-COG’s” executive director Steve Pellisier delivered copies of his agency’s annual report, along with remarks on the monies that “A-COG” funnels to Oconee for a variety of road, transit, and other services.  The government service agency also acts as an advocate for services for those of senior age, including response last year to 62 complaints resulting in the investigation of 41 cases about the quality of care in long-term facilities.
