Additional sex crimes alleged against 30-year old man

Here’s announcement from Oconee Sheriff’s Office:

“A Seneca man, who was out on bond after his
arrest on May 9th on 15 counts of Sexual Exploitation of a Minor – 2
nd Degree, has been charged
with three additional counts of Sexual Exploitation of a Minor – 2
nd Degree.
30 year old Cory Donovan Simpson, who received a combined $155,000 surety bond after his
first arrest and, was released last Wednesday after posting bond, was arrested again and booked
into the Oconee County Detention Center (Wednesday).
At this time, Simpson remains in jail on a combined $300,000 surety bond on the three additional
charges.
The additional charges stem from a continuing investigation that the Oconee County Sheriff’s
Office has been conducting in cooperation with the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office and the
Department of Homeland Security.
The investigation stemmed from Cybertips in regards to the possession and distribution of Child
Sexual Abuse Material by Simpson, which also included attempts to blackmail multiple minors
for the purposes of monetary gain.
Based upon evidence that was gathered during the investigation, Investigators obtained a search
warrant for Simpson’s residence, which was served last Tuesday. Evidence also obtained during
the Investigation led to probable cause being established and arrest warrants obtained.
The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office is continuing its investigation, and due to preserving the
integrity of the investigation, and that of any underage victims, the Sheriff’s Office will not
release any information that could, either directly or indirectly, identify any victims.”
