Adding to a bad mark for South Carolina

A weekend Oconee County accident adds to the state and nation’s count of rural traffic fatalities.  And, as SCDOT officials were told recently, the state has the highest numbers of rural fatalities in the country.  Christy Hall, transportation secretary, has said she believes department is doing everything it can from an infrastructure standpoint to lower the rural fatality rate.  Hall believes data findings show the DOT is improving the right roads.  South Carolina crash data show driver behavior is a major factor.
