Added importance to an April 16 Seneca hearing

The chairman of the South Carolina House Labor, Commerce and Industry Committee, Bill Sandifer, is attaching added importance to a state agency’s public hearing next month in Seneca.  Duke Energy’s application to raise electric power rates is to be the subject of an April 16 hearing at Seneca High School.  It’ll be conducted by the state Public Service Commission, which has jurisdiction over electric utilities operating in the state.  Whether you are a Duke Energy customer or not, Sandifer believes the conduct of state agency officials can be instructive and lead to understanding of an important arm of state government.
