“Active Attack Drill” in the works for next week

Multiple public safety agencies from Oconee County will conduct an active attack drill next week at Seneca High School.  The key word is drill — a way to practice coordination and response in the event of an attack in any of the county’s public schools.  The drill Wednesday, October 11 takes place during a week of no classes countywide for fall break, so the appearance of squad cars, ambulances, fire trucks, and the like at the Seneca High School is planned as a drill only, which is not open to the public.  The drill is not a response to any known or perceived threats to any school.  Sheriff Crenshaw says, “The drill at Seneca High School will further enable all agencies involved to become better coordinated and better skilled as we continue to be proactive in protecting those who work, teach, and attend classes in Oconee County schools.”
