Accreditation time for Oconee’s top cops

Oconee Sheriff’s Office will welcome an accreditation team next month in a process for the county sheriff’s office to qualify for state accreditation.  Sheriff Crenshaw told 101.7/WGOG NEWS it’s the right time for his office of 124 uniformed and plainclothes officers to subject themselves to an evaluation which, if successful, means multiple benefits.  They include a boost in the confidence in those whom the sheriff’s office serves that it meets statewide standards in the profession.  And having a sheriff’s office attain state accreditation qualifies it to obtain grants previously unavailable.
