Accepting but not totally satisfying

The issue of what Walhalla requires to continue to send its cross-trained fire department to answer calls within a five-mile radius of the corporate limits appears to have been satisfied for this year.  But as the newly-elected councilman Kenny Johns put it last night Walhalla would like to negotiate a higher payment from county government.  For this year, that payment has been reported at $550 thousand, although Johns conceded last night that the advent of the county’s newest fire station in Bountyland could mean that Walhalla assistance to that bedroom Seneca community might not be as needed as heretofore.
