A rural southern Oconee church — where the action was

Big doings yesterday in one of Oconee’s rural outposts.  In the buildings of the Earles Grove Baptist Church on Highway 59, there was voting in the state’s primary runoff elections.  And there was also a public information meeting on the latest to bring piped sewer to I-85, the village of Fair Play, and other parts of southern Oconee County.  Those who stopped in at the drop-in style meetings received written copies of an explanation of the “Fair Play/Townville Area Sewer Basin Study” and the chance to fill out a survey that the Joint Regional Sewer Authority and its engineering consultants can use as they go about what it’ll be a major and expensive project to run sewer as far as the county’s section of the interstate highway.
