A retirement in broadcast radio

Jim Bohannon over the weekend was scheduled to finish his final radio show, in a broadcast career that stretched to more than 50 years.  Bohannon, a Chickasaw Point resident and Missouri native, weeknight show in his name that ran on more than 300 stations, including 94.1 The Lake at Seneca.  He is a member of the National Radio Hall of Fame and is remembered by 101.7/WGOG listeners for his comments on current events during several morning programs, hosted by former WGOG announcer Kris Butts.  Cumulus Media, which made the announcement of Bohannon’s plans, said the retirement is traced to health reasons and that the program will continue with guest host, Rich Valdes, a New York-area talk show host.
