A remake discussed for Oconee’s “C” Fund Committee

A three-member committee decides where to spend millions of dollars in state monies that are made available to fix Oconee County secondary roads and other projects, in the county and the county’s five municipalities.  That group is Oconee’s state “C” Fund Committee.  The committee’s members are all of a senior age, so the thought expressed by the chairman today was that, perhaps, it’s time for some new blood or, at the least, an expansion to a five-member committee.  That would give two more Oconeeans with authority to help match the dollars to their greatest needs.   Sam Dickson, the chairman, today proposed sending a letter to the county’s state lawmakers addressing the possibility of expanding the committee to five members.  Other committee members are Tally Grant and Richard Cottingham.
