A promise to those lacking internet access

Upcountry Fiber, the partnership between Blue Ridge Electric Cooperative and WC Fiber, is making a promise to under-served sections of Pickens County, when it comes to access to broadband internet.  With a federal grant, Upcountry Fiber pledges to attack the digital divide by providing internet access to the following under-served Pickens County areas:  parts of Liberty, Dacusville, and Six Mile.  The project intends a total construction of 1,500 miles of fiber that will pass nearly 2,500 eligible addresses in Sunset, Shady Grove, Pumpkintown, Rocky Bottom, Central, Six Mile, Norris, Liberty and Dacusville by the end of next year.
