A New York City meeting centered on Oconee finances

Chairman Matthew Durham of the Oconee County Council and county staff workers have returned from a New York City meeting that looked at county finances.  According to Durham, it was a consult-type meeting with officials of Moody’s and Standard and Poor centering on the county’s bond rating, as the county moves toward sewer expansion.  In his newsletter, Durham writes, “The meetings were fruitful, and I sense that the financial analysts were genuinely impressed with our county’s financial health.  Consequently, we anticipate a highly favorable rating following our discussions.”
