A new tool for Westminster code enforcement efforts

Here’s a premise that Westminster is using on its way to ridding Oconee’s third largest municipality of vacant structures:  “Vacant buildings are an impediment to neighborhood redevelopment and rehabilitation, decrease property values, and prevent neighborhood stabilization.”  The city council agreed with City Administrator Kevin Bronson’s recommendation last night to create a registry for vacant and abandoned buildings.  Mayor Ramey says most complaints he gets from city residents these days are the large number of abandoned structures that are left to disrepair.
