A ceremony to promote peace

The Oconee History Museum extends an invitation to all to attend a ceremony this month in the name of peace.  A peace pole will be dedicated on the museum grounds in Walhalla at 11 o’clock Saturday morning, September 23.  Local pastors and community leaders will speak on how peace can be encouraged in the local community.  Refreshments will be served. Inscription on the peace pole reads:  “‘May Peace Prevail on Earth’ in English, Spanish, Cherokee, German, and Braille.”
