A 3rd suitor for school building and property

A new party has expressed interest in acquiring the Seneca Middle School property.  Announcement last night by a district administrator brings to three entities interested in the building and 22.5 acres on WS 4th Street.  Besides a ministry project proposal from The Dream Center and the city of Seneca’s interests to expand recreation next to the Shaver complex, there’s interest by an unidentified third party with interest in creating a youth wrestling facility.  From the meeting audience, city administrator Scott Moulder explained that he also has been approached by the third party to explore the possibility of a partnership.  Steve Hanvey, associate superintendent, alerted the trustees to a timetable which will have the replacement middle school on the Wells Highway ready by the end of the calendar year – meaning that the board of trustees should be ready to decide what to do with the vacated school and land within the next few months.  The trustees engaged in lengthy discussion last night about exactly what to do with the existing middle school.  For one, District Two’s Dr. Meghan Ketterman said she’d like to tour the existing school to better gauge exactly what the district will part with.
