I-85 shooting may have been road rage

The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office is in the early stages of an investigation into a shooting late yesterday afternoon on Interstate 85 in the southern part of the county.

 

Around 5:30pm this afternoon, the E-911/ Communications Center received a call of gunshots fired from one vehicle into another vehicle, on the interstate, that was occupied by two adults and two children.  The shooting occurred on I-85 southbound between mile markers 1 and 2, Highway 11 and Highway 59.

 

The adult female inside of the vehicle sustained injuries.  According to Sheriff Crenshaw, it was a possible road rage incident.

 

The victim was transported to the hospital via a medical helicopter.
