Arrest in sex case investigation

The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office arrested a

Seneca man yesterday on two counts of Criminal Sexual Conduct with a Minor – 1st Degree.

56 year old Donald Kevin Earle was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center around 3:05pm yesterday.  At this time, Earle remains in custody at the Detention Center as bond was denied for his two charges.  Earle will appear before a Circuit Court Judge, at a later time, regarding bond.

The Sheriff’s Office investigation began this past Saturday after a deputy from the Uniform Patrol Division spoke to Earle by phone in regards to Earle stating that he had touched a child inappropriately.  The incident had not been reported to the Sheriff’s Office previously.

The case was turned over to the Criminal Investigations Bureau.  After further investigation and collection of evidence, it was determined that Earle had touched a child inappropriately between April 1st and August 1st of this year.  The investigation involves only one victim.

The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office is continuing its investigation.
