Summerville man arrested in Oconee on multiple charges

The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Summerville, SC man Thursday on multiple charges in relation to an ongoing domestic violence investigation.

 

26 year old Joseph Caleb Owens of Wellington Road was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center after being arrested during a traffic stop on Clemson Boulevard Thursday afternoon.  The victim in the incidents was also located on scene and was transported to the hospital for treatment of injuries.

 

In all, Owens has been charged with two counts each of Domestic Violence – 1st Degree and Kidnapping as well as one count of Domestic Violence of a High and Aggravated Nature.  According to the arrest warrants obtained by an investigator from the Criminal Investigations Bureau, the incidents investigated on or about Wednesday of this week.

 

The first incident occurred on Keowee School Road near Evatt Road.

 

The second incident occurred in the parking lot of a business on Highland Highway north of Walhalla.

The third incident occurred on Highlands Highway between Village Drive and Tunnel Town Road.

 

At this time, due to health privacy and safety concerns, the victim’s name is not being released.

 

Owens has been served his arrest warrants and currently remains in custody at the Detention Center, at this time, on a $125,000 surety bond.
