$40-$60 hour jobs is county leader’s goal

Matthew Durham is talking a revival for industrial growth in Oconee County.  The county council chairman says the goal is modern manufacturing and high-tech industries with jobs that pay between $40 and $60 an hour.  In a statement, Durham expresses the belief that Sewer South, thru its infrastructure for the I-85 corridor, will be essential to industrial development.  The fact that the county’s public school enrollment has been held to about 10 thousand for decades is a sign to Durham that the county’s youth leave for elsewhere.
