Shoplifting case traced to Atlanta area woman

An arrest has been made, by the Oconee County
Sheriff’s Office, in an ongoing shoplifting investigation where over $10,000 in merchandise was
stolen this summer from the Ulta Beauty location in Hartwell Village near Seneca.
The Sheriff’s Office announced the arrest of 36 year old Sonia Nuta, of Club Place NW in
Duluth, GA, on a charge of Shoplifting with a value of over $10,000. Nuta was booked into the
Oconee County Detention Center around 9:34pm Tuesday. Nuta was transported from the
Gwinnett County (GA) Detention Center to the Oconee County Detention Center yesterday.
A Deputy from the Pro-Active Criminal Enforcement
(P.A.C.E.) Team responded to Ulta Beauty on Saturday afternoon, June 24th. The Deputy was
informed, by an employee, that three females came into the store during the evening hours on
Thursday, June 22nd and shoplifted items from the store.
An arrest warrant was obtained
against Nuta by an Investigator with the Criminal Investigations Bureau. According to the arrest
warrant, approximately $12,000.00 in merchandise was stolen.
The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office is continuing its investigation.
