A 2-2 divide at Pine Street

A divide on Oconee’s four-member governing board was evident again last night when County Council failed to appoint a representative to the county Economic Alliance, a public-private partnership group that works on economic development.  Chairman Elliott  motioned to name Julian Davis but neither Glenn Hart nor Don Mize would support Davis’s appointment.  Hart moved to appoint Mize but neither Elliott, nor Davis agreed.   Council remains a four-member group, subject to in-conclusive 2-2 votes at least until suspended member Matthew Durham’s case is decided in the General Sessions Court.
