Zoning appeal denied in a 6-0 vote

The owners of a home on a Lake Hartwell peninsula at Fair Play were denied last night in a bid to win an appeal of Oconee County’s setback requirements.  The home owners on Inlet Point Road sought a variance to the 10’ setback line to allow for a deck.  Chairman Jim Codner of the county board of zoning appeals indicated neighbors’ opposition was influential as the board denied the appeal in a 6-0 vote.  Rulings by the board of appeals may be challenged in the circuit court.
