Work starts on $5.4M Seneca apartment complex

The area of Seneca’s Monarch Park used to be a place just for butterflies. Part of the property behind E-N 1st Street will soon be home to a complex that addresses Seneca’s housing needs. A permit has been opened at City Hall that allows Ohio companies to open a 50-unit complex called Hunter Oaks apartments on 12.5 acres. At quitting time yesterday, large machinery could be seen exiting the property, and Seneca’s Ed Halbig says it’s likely that the equipment there is likely developing the base for Hunter Oaks Drive that will lead into the apartments. According to Halbig, the apartments will be 1, 2, and 3 bedrooms and be situated in an area that’s served by the city’s transit line, “CAT” bus service. Value of the complex is placed at $5.4 million.
