WOODY LOCKE  

 Westminster- Walter Wayne “Woody” Locke, 91, husband of Lucille Marie Wargel Locke, passed away peacefully on April 2nd, 2024 at the Richard M. Campbell Veterans Nursing Home in Anderson, South Carolina.

 

Born November 10th, 1932 in Neosho, MO, he was the son of the late Walter and Marcella Callahan Locke. A Veteran of the Korean War, Woody enlisted in the United States Air Force at the age of 17 and served from 1950-1970, retiring as recipient of the Air Force Commendation Medal at the rank of Master Sergeant. In addition to her service in Korea, he was stationed for extended periods in France and England. He was a Hejaz Shriner, a member of the American Legion Post 107, and the Masonic Lodge of Westminster, South Carolina.

 

Woody is survived by his beloved wife of 69 years, Lucille Marie Wargel Locke; daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Harvey Feltman of Westminster; daughter Cheri Wilson of Westminster, grandchildren, Brian and Carrie Feltman of Statesboro, Georgia, Kelly Feltman of Westminster, Jessica Webb of Westminster, Starr and David Hayden of California; great-grandchildren, Naomi and Maxine Feltman, Abigail and Toby Prince, Patrick and Scarlett Ridley, and Pearl Hayden.

 

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Leroy Locke and Oscar Locke.

 

In accordance with Woody’s wishes, no formal service will be held. A burial will take place at M.J. Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery at a later date.
