With COVID, you can be well today and ill tomorrow

In the past two weeks, South Carolina DHEC test locations have seen increases in those who want to be tested.  Some test locations have seen nearly 100 people each hour.  DHEC is stressing that while tests determine if you are sick, masks and social distancing are critical to preventing illness from the start.  You can be well today and ill tomorrow.  Asymptomatic persons unknowingly carry the virus and pass it to others who may become more severely ill if they contract the virus.  If you test positive, a DHEC-trained case investigator will call you.  Information collected during the calls is voluntary and confidential and helps keep those around you safe while helping the state health agency learn more about where the virus is occurring.
