William Watkins
Franklin County, GA – William Gentry Watkins, 43, husband of Virginia D. Franklin Watkins, passed away on Monday, August 28, 2023, at his residence.
Born in Westminster, South Carolina, William was the son of late Steve DeWayne Watkins and the late Bobbie Jean Smith Watkins. William was self-employed as a mechanic and enjoyed shooting pool and fishing, and was known as a jokester to all that knew him.
In addition to his parents, William is survived by his beloved wife of 27 years, Virginia Franklin Watkins; step-daughters, Angel Buzard of Franklin, GA, Renee Pilgrim of Cleveland, GA and Brandi Mize of Banks, GA; brother, Stevie Watkins of Greenville; sisters, Barbara Cutchan, of Alabama; a grandmother, Maybell Watkins of Westminster; nieces, Lacey Watkins of Walhalla, Hana Watkins of Friendship; great-niece, Maryona Huff of Walhalla; nephews, Steven Watkins of Seneca and Leon Watkins of Royston, Ga; and many other nieces, nephews and extended family.
William is preceded in death by a brother, Danny Underwood; sisters, Sherry Ellen, and Lisa Roach; a niece, Barbara Watkins; and an uncle, Gary Watkins.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 3:00 pm, Wednesday, September 6th, 2023, at Sandifer Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends prior to the service, 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm, Wednesday, September 6th, 2023 at Sandifer Funeral Home.
