William Casey

 

Fair Play – William Franklin Casey Jr., 74, husband of Beverly Whitsel Casey, passed away Friday, October 15th, 2021 at Prisma Health Oconee Memorial Hospital.

 

A native of Oconee County, he was the son of the late William Franklin Casey Sr. and Alfa Queen Casey.  William worked in the manufacturing industry and was a United States Army Veteran having served during Vietnam. William was a member of Oakdale Baptist Church, a member of the Fair Play Masonic Lodge 132 AFM, the Walhalla American Legion, taught RA’s at South Union Baptist Church, and an active support of the Wilderness Way Girls Camp. William was an avid beef farmer and his greatest passion was spending time with his family.

 

Survivors in addition to his wife, Beverly Whitsel Casey of 51 years, include daughters, Lindsey Casey Gotham and husband Ed of Fair Play, and Kisha Casey Barnes and husband Thad of Fair Play; brother, Marshall Wiley of Fair Play; sisters, Pat Slaton of Fair Play, and Peggy Breazeale and husband Charles of Fair Play; four grandchildren, Braden Barnes, Ava Barnes, Aleighah Gotham and Kaidence Gotham; and numerous other special friends and family members.

 

William is preceded in death by his parents, and sisters, Betty Glenn and Frances Wittig.

 

A Funeral Service will be held 2:00 pm, Tuesday, October 19th, 2021, at Oakdale Baptist Church with burial to follow at South Union Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends prior to the service 12:00 pm – 1:45pm, Tuesday, October 19th, 2021 at Oakdale Baptist Church.
